Verhalen vormen de kern van wat het betekent om mens te zijn. We maken ze, vertellen ze, horen ze en leven ze — en door verhalen begrijpen we de wereld en onze plek daarin. Wanneer iemand een verhaal deelt, blijft het zelden lang van hem of haar alleen. Een verhaal over verdriet, liefde, ergens thuishoren of opnieuw beginnen wordt op de een of andere manier een beetje van ons allemaal. Stories are at the very heart of being human. We create them, tell them, hear them and live them — and through them we make sense of the world and our place in it. When someone shares a story, it rarely stays theirs for long. A story about grief, love, belonging or starting over somehow becomes a little bit about all of us.
Jaren geleden vroeg Isa's vader — de eerste verteller van de familie — zich af wat zijn verhalen konden betekenen voor mensen die hem niet kenden. Storytelling Houten beantwoordt die vraag sindsdien. Years ago, Isa's father — the original storyteller in the family — wondered what his stories could mean to people who didn't know him. Storytelling Houten has been answering that question ever since.

Elke avond heeft een thema — van 'Wild' tot 'Turning Points' — en zes vertellers geven er hun eigen invulling aan, deels in het Nederlands, deels in het Engels.Every evening has a theme — from 'Wild' to 'Turning Points' — and six storytellers bring it to life in their own words, half in Dutch and half in English.
